About

Who I am

I qualified with a Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage from the London School of Sports Massage in March 2013. Since then I have added numerous additional courses on different techniques and types of massage, and non massage based therapies to gain knowledge and improve my ability to treat most Soft Tissue problems.

Initially I operated as a mobile therapist, fitting in seeing clients around a full time job. I then moved to focusing more on the therapy side and started to work in the well established clinic in Downham Market.

I have an interest in most sports. I played football badly when I was younger and am a fan of Liverpool Football Club. I now split my time, when active, running (which secretly I hate), the occasional game of Badminton, and playing Disc Golf (which I love).

My drive is to treat all physical problems whether they are caused by sport, recreation or work. I got into being a therapist in a round about way due to having back pain resulting from a work place injury since my early twenties. After trying all different therapies to help with the pain I found a Soft Tissue approach to be the most effective.

Why Soft Tissue Therapy?

What you can expect from a session

Usually the first session starts with a few details being taken and a brief medical questionnaire to assess your suitability for treatment and to give an overview of your general health and condition. For an adult I recommend all sessions should be 1 hour long. This gives ample time to talk over the treatment and address any issues that may be present. Within this hour it is usual that approximately 45 minutes is dedicated to massage and other treatments. Depending on whether remedial exercise, stretching or just general aftercare advice is required there may a 5 to 10 minute period at the end of the session to discuss these.

For children the session time is usually reduced to 30 minutes. Their bodies are still growing and they tend to recover much faster. Also too much treatment can be as bad as too little. For all children under 18 it is required that an adult accompany them into the room when treatment is taking place.

Anyone requiring a chaperone is more than welcome to bring one into the treatment room especially if you are feeling nervous about the treatment. Regardless of how old you are, it is better for everyone if you feel relaxed and the treatment will be all the better for it.

What it costs

A standard one hour session is £50

If you require a home visit the cost can be held at £50 as long as you are within 5 miles of the clinic. Further away than this may incur extra charges for mileage but all efforts will be made to keep this to a minimum.

Kinesiology Taping if deemed beneficial within a 1 hour session will not be an extra charge. If you require just Kinesiology Taping then please contact me for details.

All other treatments are charged at £50 for the hour.

Sessions of 30 minutes for children and shorter treatments are charged at £30.
